Biography

Del was born in Idaho in 1933. He was the son of Orley Quinn and Golda Christensen. In 1942 his family moved to Richmond California where there was work in the shipyards during the War. In 1954 Del married Marie Rachel Scheidt. They lived in the Bay Area of northern California. Del was well known in the racecar circuit, passing away at the Kings Speedway in Hanford, California in 2001 at age 66.

From the Fresno Bee: Del Quinn, a two-time NCMA champion, died of an apparent hear attack April 28 at the Kings Speedway. He finished fifth in the main event of the Golden State Challenge and pulled into the pits where he died.
