Ann (Quirk) Campbell was born in the Isle of Man

Ann was born in 1815. She was the daughter of William Quirk and Catherine Callin on Isle of Man. She married William Campbell on the Isle of Man in 1837. She and William migrated to New South Wales in 1839 on the "Hero of Malourn", settling initially at Fosterton on the Williams River. She passed away in 1902.

Mrs. CAMPBELL, Sen.

On Monday last Mrs. Campbell, sen., died at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. J. Bradbury, of Greenhill. The deceased lady was the widow of the late Mr. William Campbell. She was born in the Isle of Man 88 years ago and came to this State with her husband about the year 1839 or 1840. They first settled in the Hunter River district, afterwards removing to Rollands Plains and finally settling at Warneton. She leaves a family of four daughters and six sons. The daughters are Mrs. William Lindsay, of Huntingdon, Mrs. Henry Halliday, Rollands Plains, Mrs. Jonathan Abbott, of the Manning, and Mrs. J. Bradbury, of Greenhill. The sons are Messrs. Thomas and Robert Campbell, of the Tweed, Mr. James Campbell, Parrabel, Mr. William Campbell, Rollands Plains, Mr. Joseph Campbell, of Tennessee, and Mr. John Campbell, of Kempsey. The mortal remains of the deceased lady were laid to rest in the West Kempsey Cemetery in the presence of a large concourse of mourners and friends. The Rev. John Taylor read the burial service.[1]
