Marion Shoemaker. E. Shoemaker, 83, of Kingston, died Sunday, July 29, 2001 at Hospice Care of the VNA Inpatient Unit at Heritage House, Wilkes-Barre.
Born July 6, 1918, in Noxen, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Effie (Traver) Race. She attended Noxen schools. She attended the Shavertown United Methodist Church and was a former member of the Womens Circle at Kunkle Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin; daughter, Sue Elaine Shoemaker; sisters, Jessie Cargill and Margaret VanCampen; and brothers, Wilson, William and Elmer.
Surviving are her daughters, Judith Gribble, Shavertown, Kingston Township; and Susan Jane Shoemaker, Kingston; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Private funeral services were held at the convenience of the family from the Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home, 140 North Main Street, Shavertown, with the Rev. Janet Clarke officiating. Interment was in Fern Knoll Burial Park, Dallas. Memorial donations may be made to the VNA Hospice, do Heritage House, 80 E. Northampton Street, WilkesBarre 18702; or to the Shavertown United Methodist Church, 163 North Pioneer Avenue, Shavertown 18708.
