On the night of the 1841 census James is living with his parents in Love Lane, Harrow on the Hill, Middlesex, England.[1]
He marries Mary Woodbridge on 17 July 1844 at the church in Ruislip, Hillingdon. The marriage document states he is 22 years old and a labourer.[2]
In 1847 Mary gives birth to a daughter, named Eliza, Eliza, who sadly does not live long.
Following the death of his wife Mary in 1848,[3] he then marries Ann Evans on 5 April 1850. Ann had also previously been married to a James Bugden, who had died in 1844. [4]
On the night of the 1851 census James, together with his wife Ann and their baby son, James, who according to the census is 5 months old are living with the Lawrence family at Pinner Common, Middlesex. [5] Unfortunately their baby son, James dies in 1851.[6]
On the night of the 1861 census, James and Ann, together with their children are living at Waxwell Road, Pinner, Middlesex.[7]
Ten years later on the night of the 1871 census the Rackley family are still living at Waxwell Road, Pinner, Middlesex and there is now another son, Fred Evans Rackley, who was born in 1866 .[8]
The Rackley family do not remain at Waxwell Road and on the night of the 1881 census they are now living at Hilldrop Villa in Pinner, Middlesex.[9]
I haven't as yet been able to find the baptism for James.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with James by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with James:
