Biography

Catherine was born about 1773 according to her death record. ^[1] Her parents were Michael and Catherine Rader. ^{[1] [2]} She died 6 April 1853 in Roanoke, Virginia. ^[1] The informant was her son, Michael Ruddell. ^[1]

Catherine "Katherine" RADER was born about 29 December 1773 in Shenandoah County, Virginia. She was baptized on 29 May 1774. She was the daughter of Michael Rader and Catherine Long. She passed away about 6 April 1853. ^[3]

Catherine Rader married on 10 December 1793 in Shenandoah County, Virginia to Andrew RUDDELL. Andrew RUDDELL was the son of Cornelius RUDDLE and Ingebo ALLEN.

They had ten known children:

Research Notes

In the 1850 US Federal Census, a Cornelius Riddle was living next door to Catharine. She was living with her son, Michael, who was 52 years of age. The neighbor, Cornelius, was 50 years of age. Catharine's last name was also spelled "Riddle." He is likely another son of Catharine and Andrew Ruddell. (see below census source)
