Biography

Evan was born in 1893. He was the son of Stephen Rafuse and Mary Foster. A U.S. Department of Labor Immigration Service document dated 4 Aug 1924 lists Evan as traveling by auto with his mother to join his brother Ashley, living in Peru, Maine. Evan is described as being 31 years of age, 5' 9" tall, medium complexion, with brown hair and blue eyes. He also is listed on the 1930 U.S. census enumeration from Rumford, Maine as being 37 , single and living with his brother Ashley's large family. He married in 1936 in Portsmouth, NH to Hazel Beryl Young Young-31001. He passed away in 1965. Evan and his wife Hazel are buried at the Forest Glade Cemetery, Somersworth, New Hampshire.
