So sad to see you have passed. I was new to Wikitree and would see your comments and I would just laugh about it. He was a mentor to me without knowing. Thanks Dick for your contributions and your service to the United States Navy. Rest Peacefully

Although I do not personally know Dick Ragland, I greatly appreciate his contributions to our "Ragland" heritage. Without his interest, and dedication to put forth the effort to record info pertinent to our ancestors, many "Raglands" would have certainly been overlooked or never recorded under WikiTree. We have lost a special person who was involved in ancestry for many years. I would like to say, "Thank You" for all that you have contributed in the time that you spent here on planet earth, in many ways far beyond just Wikitree!!

I am so sad to learn of the death of Richard. He has been a long-time WikiTree friend since we discovered our shared Welsh ancestry. I will miss our exchanges.

Hi there,

Are you still researching the Simon family of Hardy County, (West) Virginia?

Please stop adding Leeann Adcock as a wife of John Ragland, Jr. There is no source or documentation for either of his wives. Making another profile for Leeann Adcock and giving her the same birth, death and place names as Adcock-140 without any source, aside from your "family research" or an on line family tree is not good research. I have removed her from John Ragland's profile 3 times today, as well as his son William. I even wrote you personally. Find documentation please. I am a direct descendant of John Ragland and my family records show his wives were unknown.
I have been trying to contact you to get your consent to correct Christian-100's LNAB. According to the known historic sources he only started to call himself Christian in about 1580. Please contact me to confirm your consent. Thanks

Fine, Nick. with all my thanks/ Cordially, Dick
We need primary source information for Rowland-2886 profile.

Do you have documentation, other than Find a Grave that is unsourced and has no Cemetery or anything other than Family trees for the maiden name of this person? I would like this profile to be merged to Unknown-504976 with a reference to the Rowland name in the biography as Uncertain parent, until some sourcing is found.

Any questions, please let me know

Sri. I don't., I don't. Don't make me. Cordially, Dick
Too funny! Actually, doing the research about Jane, it appears he became known as "the Hoarse" about the same time that he was released as prison (held 1213-1215), so maybe a prison cough?

Re: your comment, I guess I got good genes! My son's over age 30. I'd say you got 'smooth talking' genes yourself. As to your death date, I haven't figured out (yet) how to master that. I'll work on it...  ;)
Dear Darlene:

Just reporting, mam. I'm still breathing. I think. Therefore, Cordially, Dick

Well, that's good news! Thanks for reporting! I hope you stay healthy and continue breathing . . .

Thanks Richard for the heads up on the merge suggestion. Katherine should be able to clear it, or I can if she can't get to it.

Sorry, Richard, the Royal Ancestry by Douglas Richardson source that I gave only gives the dob for one child, Elizabeth Saint John Whiting. She was born at Keysoe, Bedfordshire in 1605, and died at Lynn, Massachusetts 3 March 1676/7.

This is an online link to ...

"The Bulkeley family; or the descendants of Rev. Peter Bulkeley, who settled at Concord, Mass., in 1636. Compiled at the request of Joseph E. Bulkeley"

by Chapman, F. W. (Frederick William), 1806-1876; Bulkeley, Joseph Edmund, b. 1812.

Good luck in your research!

Hi, Richard. Can we chat? Although I doubt that we are related, I'd like to help you find out more about your family (she says optimistically.) I'm a Wikitree mentor, retired public librarian, and I do enjoy researching. Thanks!
Found another one! You and I are 17th cousins connected by 169 common ancestors. All these lines can't all be wrong, right? Thanks for all you do!
