Biography

1910 Census, Butler Co., KY: The household is: Tom S Ragland 45, Fred Ragland 14, Aubra Ragland 12, Courtland Ragland 11, Noka Ragland 8, Grady Ragland 7.

His mother-in-law's diary (2 May 1936) notes "Fred got a telegram that his father was very ill today.[1] T. S. Ragland died a few days later. On 7 May, she records that he "started for Kentucky today, called there by his father's death. Leona went with him to Walsenburg." On 27 May she reports "Fred got home from Kentucky yesterday. He wants to go back."

Event: moved with his family back to Kentucy from Colorado on 2 SEP 1936, as noted in his mother-in-law's dirary: Monte Vista CO to Butler County, KY. "buried myself in my work today to forget my lonelyness".

Later, he was abandoned by his wife and children. (OCT 1939) Morgantown, KY.

A Fred J Ragland is noted as living outside of Monte Vista in the 1930 census, in a household with another male, both farmers. Vital stats fit him but the anomaly is that he ought to have been living with his wife by this time.
