Biography

Thomas, born in 1883,^{[1] [2]} was the eldest child of Thomas Railton and Mary Pratt. At 18, he lived at home in Coatham and worked as a cabinet maker, probably in his father's business.^[3] He appears to have married Mary Ann Skinner in Guisborough in 1905.^[4] However, Margaret is his wife of five years in the 1911 Census and a Margaret Sill does marry in 1905 in Guisborough, but no spouse's name is attached to the record.^[5][6] Their son, Lancelot, was born in 1906 in Redcar.^[7]
