Biography

When George Charles Rainford was born on 2 November 1837, his father, George, was 27 and his mother, Harriet, was 21. He emigrated with his family at age 11, arriving in Joliet, Illinois USA. [1] His mother died shortly afterward and his father remarried. He married Mary Clifton on 2 July 1870 in Kankakee, Illinois, USA. They had five children in 10 years. He died on 15 November 1922 at the age of 85, and was buried in Manteno, Illinois, USA.
