Biography

William Elmsley Raley was the son of Charles Raley and Lucy S. Simpson.[1]

After earning a BASc at the University of Toronto, he died of wounds on the Western Front in Oct 1916, while serving with the 7th Field Coy, Canadian Engineers in the 3rd Canadian Division and is buried in the Contay British Cemetery, Contay, Somme, France.[2]When he signed up for overseas service, he had previous experience with the 2nd Field Company, Canadian Engineers and his father Charles was living in Lethbridge, Alberta.[3]
