Son of Jacob Rawl (1751-c1795) & Katherine Price Rawl (1756-1838).

Jacob married:
First wife: Elizabeth Gartman (1782-1837). Elizabeth was the daughter of George Gartman.
Second wife: Sarah Corley (ca 1804-1849). Sarah was the daughter of Laurance Corley.
Third wife: Ruth Elmore (1807-1878). Ruth was the daughter of Thomas Appleton Elmore and the sister of Rev. Elijah Elmore. She married first Lewis McCullough (ca 1777-ca 1850).
