Bessy Ralph (Bessie) was born on 26 December, 1890 at Seghill, Tynemouth, Northumberland, England to William H. Ralph (Ralph-2104) and his wife Clarinda[1].
At the time of the 1891 Census, infant Bessie and her parents, William H. Ralph, 33, a Coal Miner, and Clarinda, 32, and siblings Sarah A., 13, John, 8, William H., 5, and Joseph, 2, were living on Corving Row in Cramlington[2].
In 1901, Bessie, now 10, and her family, father William H., 43, born St. Clear, Cornwall, Coal Miner Hewer, mother Clarinda, 41, born Menheniot, Cornwall, and siblings Joseph, 12, Minnie, 7, Josiah, 5, and Edith, 1 (all the children born at Seghill) were living at Single Junction Row in Cramlington[3].
In 1911, Bessie, 20, and her family were still living in Cramlington. In addition to Bessie's parents, William Henry, 53, and Clarinda, 52, her siblings William Henry, 25, Minnie, 17, Josiah, 15, and Edith, 11, were all living with their parents in Cramlington[4].
Bessie married John Joseph Slade (Slade-1726) in the 4th Quarter of 1914 (Oct-Nov-Dec) at Tynemouth[5].
John and Bessy had one child, daughter Sylvia Maud (Slade-3286).
At the time of the 1939 Register of Voters, John and Bessie and their daughter Sylvia were living at 119 Astley Road, Seaton Delaval[6].
Bessie died in the 4th Quarter of 1958 at Northumberland[7].
