Charles Ralph was born around 1820 in Kington Magna (baptised 17 Sep 1820), Somerset to William Ralph a yeoman farmer from Bagber near Sturminster Newton in Dorset and Elizabeth Tite of Stalbridge in Dorset. Charles continued to farm the family farm at Bagber after the decease of his father William in 1846. He married Maria Bishop in 1847 and together they had 6 children. He died in 1892 in Stalbridge where he is recorded as a retired farmer.
