Eleanor was born in 1901. She was the daughter of John Ralston and Agnes Sillars. [1]
She was a librarian and teacher. She never married.
She passed away in 1993. [2]
Eleanor E. Ralston, Rockford, former Argyle resident, died at 5:52 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, 1993, at Wesley Willows Retirement Home. She was born in the Argyle community and lived there during her early years. Attended Rockford High School and graduated from Beloit College. Taught school in Florida for several years before returning to Rockford to serve as fine arts librarian for Rockford Public Library. Special interests included compiling extensive records of the genealogy of her family, who had emigrated from Scotland in the 1840s. Devoted lifelong member of Willow Creek Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her brother, Donald Everett (Marian) Ralston of Rochester, Minn., three nieces and two nephews.
Services at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, in Willow Creek Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Jack Harrison, pastor, officiating. Arrangements by DELAHANTY FUNERAL HOME LTD., 401 River Lane, Loves Park. Burial in Argyle Scottish Cemetery. Memorials to Willow Creek Presbyterian Church.[3]
