Thomas Phillip Thomson Ramage was born on 4 December 1876 in Balclutha, Clutha, Otago, New Zealand. He was the son of John Ramage and his wife Julia Brody Bowers.

He passed away on 28 April 1948 in Mataura, Southland, New Zealand and was buried in the Mataura Cemetery, Mataura, Gore District, Southland, New Zealand.
