I have a copy of a marriage license that shows that a James O. Ramey, age 32 married Rachel McGehee, age 24 on Aug. 12, 1882 in Sedan, Chautauqua County, KS. This is suspicous since his brother Daniel lived in Cedar Vale which is in Chautauqua County and is about 10 miles from Sedan. The only record of the middle initial W is my note from the 1860 census for Jackson Co. IN. For the dates to work, James’ birthdate would have had to be before Aug. 12, 1850 and after the date that the census was made in 1860
