Hi Pat, Thank you for creating a pre-1700 profile for Joan Fenwick Strickland (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Fenwick-1580). Please remember that pre-1700 profiles need to have reliable sources added when the profile is created and that family trees/"Family Search site" are not considered reliable sources for pre-1700 profiles. See: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Pre-1700_Profiles#Cite_reliable_sources. When you have a chance, please add a source to that profile.

Thanks! Traci

According to his DAR record, Colonel John Bannister married Mary Bland, not Elizabeth Bland.

Pat, I noticed that you changed the LNAB of a profile before merging it with another profile. When the LNAB is changed, this is effectively creates another merge into a new profile (one that will disappear in this instance.) It's far better to change the LNAB by merging the original two profiles, since that reduces the number of profiles created. Just FYI. All the best... Bill

Hi Pat,

Re: Smith-10287

You added parents that text explains are not the parents of Elizabeth Smith. Do you have documentation to explain the location difficulty?

How's everything going?

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

Your next step is to reread and sign the Honor Code. Here's how to use WikiTree.

If you feel lost, ask a question in our G2G forum. Most WikiTree members are happy to help a fellow genealogist.

Here's the G2G Question of the Week: What are your biggest genealogical organizational problems?

If you want EVEN MORE to do, check out these volunteer options.

Hi Pat --

What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research you’d like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree? This is what makes WikiTree different than most other genealogy sites: Our goal is to have one profile per person.

Once you confirm your email address, you’ll have an opportunity to fill in your tags to tell us about your genealogical interests.

The Tags are a way for you to connect with other genealogists on Wikitree and follow activity in the topics that interest you. You can learn more on our Tags help page.

Once you click "Save Tag(s) and Volunteer," one of our Greeters will come along to confirm your membership, and you’ll be on your way!

Welcome to the family! We’re really glad you’re here.
