He died on the 31st October 1853 in Dublin, aged sixty-nine years. [2] His body was buried in Mount Jerome Cemetery.[3]

Lorin Walker has researched the descendants of Richard Colles (d.1448, England) and Margaret Hall, through William Colles (1585–1621) of Doughill, Cloufinlough, and Lucie Lyons of Phillipstown, King’s County [county Offaly], to Richard Colles (1827–1868) and Mary Ramsay.[4]
