181. Saul5 Ramsdell (Moses4, Benjamin3, Aquilla2, John1) was born in Mendon, Worcester, MA 18 December 1750. Saul died 17 February 1836 in Mendon, Worcester, MA, at 85 years of age.

He married Mary Balcom 8 January 1773 in Mendon, Worcester, MA. Mary was born 1753. Mary died after 1820. Saul fought for Mendon in the Revolution. "Private, Capt. Daniel Whiting's co., Col. Jonathan Brewer's regt.; muster roll dated 1 Aug 1775; enlisted 19 Jun 1775...Descriptive list of men belonging to Col. Thomas Nixon's (6th) regt. who enlisted for the war prior to Sept. 30, 1779, certified at Highlands, Feb. 23, 1780; age, 29 years; stature, 5 ft. 8 in.; complexion, light, hair, Brown, eyes, blue; engaged for town of Mendon; also, descriptive list dated West Point, 29 Jan 1781, Capt. Daniel's co., 6th Mass. regt. commanded by Lieut. Col. Smith." He also appears on the Continental Army pay accounts for service from April 9, 1777, to Dec. 31, 1780. He reported deserted May 29, 1782. He applied for a pension 14 April 1818 when he was 66 years old. His wife was 67 in 1820.
