Biography

Richard Ramsden was born in Lancashire, England.

Richard was born in Manchester, Lancashire, England, on October 6, 1885.^[1] He was the son of Joseph Ramsden and Ellen (Unknown). He was enumerated in the 1891 ^[2] and 1901 census ^[3] residing with his family in Manchester. In 1901, he stated he was fifteen, and as "Apprentice to Brass Finisher".

Richard married Edith Barker on April 1, 1911, in Manchester, at Wesleyan Chapel, Ancoats.^[4] It is unknown if the couple had children. Richard and Ellen were enumerated in the 1911 census ^[5] living inNorth Manchester. He stated his occupation as "Laborer" for the Manchester Corporation, Gas Stove Department.

Richard passed away on February 17, 1960, in Droylesden, (a town in Tameside, Greater Manchester). Lancashire.^[6] His death was registered in Ashton.
