Francis James Ramsden Died of Wounds during World War I.

Francis James was born in 1885. He was the son of James Daniel Ramsden and Fanny Unknown. [1]. He passed away in 1918 age 33[2]


Francis James Ramsden (Service number WWI 65572) served in the Army during World War 1. An engineer in civilian life, he gave his next of kin as James Daniel Ramsden (father), of Kumeroa,He embarked 31 Dec 1917 aboard HMNZT 99 the vessel Athenic He was a Private with the 33rd Reinforcements, Otago Infantry Regiment, D Company of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force. He Died of wounds,26 August 1918 and is buried at the Bagneux British Cemetery, in Gezaincourt, Somme, France (Grave ref IV. E. 12.) [3]
