Daniel Rand, thought to be born c1686 likely at Lynn, was the son of Zachariah and Ann (Ivory) Rand of Lynn, Massachusetts. [1]
He married Mary Keyes at Marlborough on January 18, 1720/1. [2][3][4]
Mary was born on October 24, 1700, daughter of Colonel John and Mary (Eames) Keyes of Marlboro, Massachusetts and later of Shrewsbury, formed from Marlborough lands. [2][3][4]
Mary died on March 5, 1757 aged nearly 57. [5][3][4]

After her death Daniel married second, Martha Bruce on November 2, 1759. [5][3][4]
Daniel Rand wrote his will on January 20, 1769. It was filed with the courts on January 11, 1775 and approved on February 5, 1776. At that time he was of Shrewsbury.[12]
In it he names:
wife Martha
son Daniel, when he attains the age of 21
son Solomon
daughter Mary Rand, to be provided comfortable maintenance by widow Martha and son Daniel until her decease
His estate was inventoried on January 18, 1775 and assessed at a value of L485 18s 5d with L346 13s 4d being attributed to his real estate holdings. [12]
His widow Martha wrote her will on March 26, 1785, while at Shrewsbury, and filed on December 9, 1797. [13]
In it she left bequests to several of her Bruce son's, as well as son Daniel Rand. [13]
