Sarah "Betty" was born in 1853, the daughter of George Newton and Lucinda Lambeth Rand. Her father died during the U.S. Civil War. She married Leander "Lee" Clark and they had children: Edward, Ida Beatrice, Columbus Electus, Eva, Lewis, Alice, Leonard Alonzo, Lloyd, and Joseph. Betty passed away in 1931 and was buried in the Clark-Mahan Cemetery, Linn, Osage County, Missouri.
