Biography

Charles was born in 1848. He died in 1897. He may have left Battersea in 1874, sailing to Wellington in the Euterpe. ^{[1] [2]}. He was a gardener, laborer, and farmer.

He is said to have been buried in "Reomoana Maori Cemetery" in an "unmarked grave". ^[3] This is likely referring to the Makatu Point cemetery in Kaka Point, Otago. ^{[4] [5] [6]}
