Thanks for message. Assumed Smith was on my dad's side (his grandmother). Finally noticed DNA match was with my mom. Did WikiTree connection and shortest was through mom. Common ancestor connection was found thru my dad. However, I noticed going down to you was McCarty. Mom's mom is Ruth Carty, and we can only trace to William Proctor Carty (1789?-1822). He is said to have come from Virginia to Maryland around 1820, had a brother Joseph and father William who I have not been able to locate. Perhaps started out as McCarty?
George Reade 1608-1671 and Elizabeth Martiau 1615-1687 are my 8th Grandparents on my Smith (Paternal) side. They have the Tailbois and Dymoke as ancestors. My sister has a 8.2cM & 585 SNP with A279959 & myself have 8.1 cM & 603 SNP with A279959 (24 Seg's). Our Ged Numbers are A577357 and CZ063937C1 respectively.
Hi Myron, On "Myron Randall Jr. proposed a merge of Haller-734 and Haller-820". Nice to meet you! I'm actually fixing to add Ruth Carty Delaplaine to WikiTree; would you like me to transfer management of her and the other Cartys to you, since you're a close relative?

The link to the Fitz Randolph's is really interesting! Do you know your paternal haplogroup from your Ancestry test? And would you be willing to upload your Ancestry dna results to GEDmatch -- that would allow us to compare our dna and a few other folks on the Fitz Randolph side and possibly confirm the family story.

I've on instant with another DNA relative that a son born took the mothers name, instead of his father's.
In the case of the De La Plane family, you are correct. In order to help out, I have proposed the necessary merges.
