Biography

James Graves Randle settled in Greene County, Georgia between Greensboro and Penfield. After the death of his wife, Sallie, he lived with his sons in Georgia and in Arkansas, and finally died in 1863 at the home of his son, Dr. A. H. Randle near Union Point, Georgia and was buried in the family graveyard there.

In 1811, he was listed as the coroner for Greene Co, GA as he signed for a Coroner's Sale in the 06 Nov 1811 issue of [1]

8 Sept 1807. Greene County, GA, Deed Book BB, page 58. J. Meigs, President of the University of Georgia sold to J. & W. RANDLE of Greene County on 8 September 1807 for the sum of $25, Lot #66 in the town of Greensborough, 180 X 120 feet. Wit: Matt Wiley and John Armour, J.P. Recorded 17 October 1808. [2]

17 April 1807. Greene County, GA, Deed Book BB, page 59. John Houghton of Greene County sold to James Graves RANDLE and Washington RANDLE of Greene County on 17 April 1807 for the sum of $800, part of Lot #13 in the town of Greensborough. Wit: Henry Hayes, J.P., Robert W. Alston, and George W. Dillard. Recorded 13 October 1807. [3]

James married Sarah C. "Sallie" Coleman on 26 Jan 1808 in Greene County, GA [4] Together they had 6 children.

10 May 1809. James RANDLE was apparently a Commissioner of the town of Greensborough as he signed a deed where the President and Commissioners of the town of Greensborough sold several lots to Alexander McClane. Greene County, GA, Deed Book CC, page 421. [5]

1810 - On 1810 Greene County, GA tax list, Captain Dawson's district

02 Mar 1835. Morgan County, GA. Daniel T. Coleman, Admin, William RANDLE to James G. RANDLE, $1675 19th Dist. Lot #15, 202 and 1/2 acres plus and 17 and 1/2 acre lot #2 including Mansion House and other buildings, reserving 25 foot square around the family burying ground.

23 Aug 1836. Morgan County, GA. James G. RANDLE to Wm. Moncrief of Jasper Co for $4300 19th Dist of Baldwin now Morgan Co being the center Lot#15 containing 202 and 1/2 acres plus & 17 and 1/2 acres of Lot #2; also entire Lot #16 & 42 acres of Lot #17 in 19th Dist originally Baldwin now Morgan 465 acres, reserve 25 foot square around the burying ground.
