Cornelia was the 5th child of Martha (Jefferson) and Thomas Mann Randolph. She lived at Tufton and Edge Hill at the homes of her older brother Thomas Jefferson Randolph, spending time with her grandfather Thomas Jefferson. She moved to Alexandria, Virginia after the Civil War and lived at the home of her niece Martha Jefferson Trist Burke, where she died, a spinster, in 1871. She was buried at Monticello Graveyard, Charlottesville, Albemarle, Virginia
