Catherine was born 25 Dec. 1768. She passed away in 1823. therefore she lived about 93 years. She lived in the period when French Canada was conquered by the British at the battle of the Fields of Abraham. There were many burnings of the habitants' farms afterwards and her family would have been impacted by the unrest of the time as a child.
