Marriage - The Modern Way
A love story in the best modern romantic tradition lies behind the announcement of the marriage of a grandson of Lord Ribblesdale and a young authoress. Mr Peter Cecil Wilson, who is 21, was married last week to Miss Grace Helen Ranken, of Bloomsbury, at Bloomsbury Register Office. 'They kept their engagement a close secret', a friend of the bride told the Sunday Dispatch yesterday. 'On Thursday Miss Ranken put on her coat and hat and calmly said she was going out to be married'. 'She said it as casually as if she were going out for a walk'.
Grace was divorced from Peter Wilson in 1951, and the same year she married Philip Ernest Ballard, in Gloucestershire [5]
Grace was given some hellebore roots and her interest in these plants developed over the years until she became a specialist in their cultivation and propagation.
She died in St Cloud Nursing Home, Callow End, Worcestershire on 28 May 1995, her personal estate amounted to £685,789. [6][7]
