Rankin, 49, born in Connecticut in July 1850, a dry goods merchant, who owned their house without a mortgage; his wife of 33 years, Mary M., 43, b. NY in Jan. 1857, who had had one child; their daughter, Marion A., 12, b. NY, Sept. 1888, in school; and servants, Delila Davis, 40, b. VA; and Max Zimmerman, 30, b. Germany.[2]
Marion Augusta Rankin, 19, and Avery Wadsworth Skilton, 21, were married on 29 May 1907 in Manhattan, New York. It was the first marriage for both. Marion was born in Rockville Centre, New York in 1888, the daughter of William E. Rankin and Marion Melissa Grant. Avery was born in 1886 in Milford, New Hampshire, the son of G.T. Skilton and Ada Lawyer.[3][4]
In 1930, the Hunter family lived in Philadelphia city, Pennsylvania. They owned their house, valued at $5000, and also had a radio. The family included Frederick J. Hunter, 41, born in Colorado (parents b. NY), an accountant (telephone), and WWI veteran, who married at at 33; his wife, Marion, 43, b. NY (parents b. NY), who married at age 35; and their son, Arthur, 5, b. PA.[5]
