Biography

Nannie A RANKIN was born in 1840 (FindAGrave, cited below), in Guilford, North Carolina, the daughter of Thomas and Nancy Ann (Rankin) Rankin. She had one brother, William Henry Rankin (1841-1918). Their mother died in 1844. Thomas Rankin remarried in 1849 to Nancy E. Wharton. They had eight children. In 1850 and 1860, the Rankin family lived on their farm in Guilford (Census records). In 1890 in Cumberland, North Carolina Miss Nancy A. Rankin, 50, married Alexander Sessoms, 35, a widower with children. ^[1]

Miss Nannie A. RANKIN married ^{[2] [3]} Alexander SESSOMS, 35, on 29 Oct 1890 in Cross Creek Township, Cumberland, North Carolina, United States. She was the daughter of Thomas and Nannie E. Rankin.

In 1900, they lived on a farm in Bonifay, Holmes, Florida. They owned their farm without a mortgage. All members of the family were born in NC, as were their parents. The household included Alexander Sessoms, 44, b. Aug. 1855, a manufacturer; his wife of ten years, Nannie R., 56, b. Apr. 1843 (1840), who had had no children; his children, Kelly P., 19; and Erastus M., 17; and a domestic servant. ^[4]

In 1910, they lived in Bonifay, Holmes, Florida. Alexander Sessoms, 55, was a bank president, who had married twice. His wife of 19 years, Nannie R. Sessoms, 65, had married once, and had had no children. ^[5]

Nannie A. (Rankin) Sessoms, 1840-1913, was born in Guilford, North Carolina, the daughter of Thomas and Nancy A. (Rankin) Rankin. She died in Bonifay, Holmes, Florida, and is buried with her husband, Alexander Sessoms, 1855-1925, at Bonifay Cemetery, Bonifay, Florida. ^[6]
