In 1910, William (16) lived at 751 High Street, in Newark, Essex, New Jersey, with his father Edward (49), his mother Julie R. (46), his brother Russell B. (21), his sister Edith J. (21) and his brother Edward S. Jr. (12)[3].
In 1915, William (21) lived in Newark, with his father Edward (54), his mother Julie (52), his sister Edith J. (26), his brother Edward S. Jr. (17) and German cook Lizzie (26); William worked as a clerk[4].
On June 5, 1917, William (23 and single) registered for World War I, in Newark; William worked as an advertising manager at the time[5].
In 1920, William (26) still lived at 751 High Street, with his father Edward (58), his mother Julia (58 - as it's recorded in the census), brother Russell (30), his sister Edith (28 - as it's recorded in the census) and his brother Edward (23); William worked as a manager in advertising[6].
William Rankin (35-36) passed away about 1929 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery, in Hillside, Union County, New Jersey[7].
