Ralph Rankin Rites Monday

Ralph L. Rankin, of Geuda Springs, who came to this community 38 years ago from Harper, died at 9:50 p.m. June 18 in Memorial Hospital after an illness of about two years.

Born in Boise, [Du Bois, Ill.] Feb. 24, 1897, he was the son of Francis H. and Mary Crow[e] Rankin. He was an oil field pumper on leases until he retired two years ago.

Survivors include his wife of the home; three daughters, Mrs. James (Fern) Shrope, Rt. 2, Mrs. Noble (Betty) Wilson, Corpus Christi, and Mrs. Francis Jordan, Geuda Springs; two sons, Milton L. Rankin, and Norman W. Rankin, both of Geuda Springs; 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Herbert Rankin, Arkansas City, Richard Rankin and Archie Rankin, Columbus, Neb.; and three sisters, Mrs. Etta Brooks, Los Angeles, Miss June Rankin, Wichita, and Mrs. Ruby Byers, Rose Hill, Kan. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two daughters, Faye Florence Rankin and Mrs. Bonnie Jean Farris.

Funeral services will be Monday, 2:30 p.m., in the chapel of the Jess Rindt Mortuary. The Rev. Don N. Swaim will officiate and burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery.
