Biography

Mary E. Rankin, born 1872 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, was the daughter of William Rankin and Mary Ann McClure, the seventh of their eight children. Mary E. Rankin and Sheridan P. Myers/Meyers were married in 1899. They had two children, both born in Pennsylvania, William R., 1900-1990; and Mary Elinor, b. 1903. Mary E. (Rankin) Myers died (date unknown) in the United States. ^[1]

In 1880, the Rankin family lived in Mifflin Township, Allegheny, Pennsylvania. All members of the family were born in Pennsylvania. The household included William Rankin, 44, a farmer, whose parents were born in PA; his wife Mary A., 43 (father b. PA; mother b. Ireland); their children, all in school, except for the eldest one: Howard M., 20; William A., 19; Frank, 13; Mary E., 8; and Charlie, 6. ^[2]

Mary Rankin married S. P. Meyers, a dentist, living in Pittsburgh. They were married on 15 February 1899 in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. Rev. A.J. Young officiated. It was the first marriage for both parties. Both were born in McKeesport. Mary was 24. Sheridan, a dentist, was born 29 May 1866.^{[3] [4]}

Son William Myers was born 25 February 1900 in McKeesport, Allegheny, Pennsylvania, the son of S.P. and Mary Myers. ^[5]

In 1900, the Myers family lived in a rented house at 235 5th Ave., McKeesport, Allegheny, Pennsylvania. The family included Sheridan Myers, 34, born in May 1866 in PA (parents b. PA), a dentist; his wife of one year, Molly (Mary) Myers, 29, b. April 1871 in PA (parents b. PA), who had had one child; their son, William, three months old, b. February 1900 in PA. ^[6]

Daughter (Mary Elinor), unnamed at birth, was born 7 August 1903 in McKeesport, Allegheny, Pennsylvania, the daughter of S.P. and Mary Myers. ^[7]

In 1920, the Myers family lived in their rented home at 4924 Liberty Ave., Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The family included S.P. Myers, 53, a dentist with his own practice; his wife Mary E., 45; their children, William R., 19; and Elinor M., 16, both in school. ^[8]

In 1930, they lived at 4912 Liberty Ave., Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. They owned their house, valued at $14,500, and they had a radio. The family included Sheridan Myers, 63, who married at age 33, a dentist in private practice; his wife Mary E., 57, who married at 27; and their daughter, Mary E., 26, a public school teacher. ^[9]

Mary E. (Rankin) Myers, 1871-1932, is buried with her husband Sheridan P. Myers, 1866-1934, at Allegheny Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. ^[10]
