Grethe Marie (Rasmusdatter) Jurgensen has Norwegian ancestors
Biography
Grethe Marie Rasmussen was born in Kongsberg, Norge on 5 Jun 1841 to Rasmus Jorgensen & Gunnild Karine Mogensdatter, & she was baptized on the 31st of December that same year at the Kongsberg kirke[1]. At some point prior to 1861, she made her way to Oslo, where she wed Andreas Jorgensen on 15 Dec 1862 at Domkirken[2]. Together, they had seven children, the first four being born in Oslo. The family moved to the US around 1868[3], settling in Chicago[4], where their remaining three children were born[5].
Grethe Marie Jurgensen died in Chicago on 27 Feb 1923 of uncertain causes; she was buried in Chicago's Rosehill Cemetery[6].
