Cornelius Rasmussen was born in Norway in about 1810, the son of Rasmus Villasen Fossvatne and Kari Rasmusdatter. He was married twice: 1) 1831 Stavanger, Ingeborg Tørresdatter Haave (1806-1842), 2) 1845 Høyland, Karen (Carrie) Villumsdatter (1821-1881). He passed away, probably in Fillmore County, Minnesota, before 1881.
