Biography

Jane Radcliffe or Ratcliffe (living 14 Jun 1564),[1] was the eldest daughter of Sir Cuthbert Radcliffe of Dilston.[2]

"Ratcliffe of Dilston," calls her "Margaret," and makes her the sis. of Cuthbert instead of his daughter.[3]

Marriage

Jane married twice to:

  1. (08 Jul 1537 covenant) Robert, 5th Baron Ogle,[4]
  2. Sir John Forster of Bamburgh (b. c.1520 - d. 13 Jan 1602).

She was the second wife of the Robert, fifth Baron of Ogle, and the mother of his second son, Cuthbert, 7th Baron of Ogle.[5][4]

After Baron Ogle died, Jane remarried to Sir John Forster of Bamburgh. She was his only wife, but he did have children outside of marriage.[6][7]

Jane and Robert Ogle, 5th Baron Ogle, are the parents of:

  • Cuthbert, 7th Baron Ogle[4]
  • Thomas [4]
  • Margaret m. Robert, third son of Sir John Widdrington, Knt.[4][8]

Forster

Jane and Sir John Forster had no sons.[6] They had two daughters, including:

  • Grace m. Sir William Fenwick of Wallington[7]
  • Eleanor (Juliana) m. Sir Francis Russel, Knt. (Father: Francis, Earl of Bedford)[6][7]
