Daniel was born October 30, 1706 on Block Island, the son of William and Sarah Rathbone. His father bought land in Lyme, Connecticut and gave it to Daniel and a brother. Here he married Thankful Higgins March 19, 1741 He died October 7, 1789[1] and is assumed to be buried at East Hartland Cemetery in Hartland, Hartford County, Connecticut.[2]
Research Note
One named Daniel Rathbone served in the French & Indian War, enlisting March 26, 1760 - Second Company, 2nd Connecticut Regiment commanded by Capt. Joseph Spencer of East Haddam. But this man died in service to his county, October 27, 1760.[3] The date of death listed here is without source so further research needs to be done.
