Hi Karen

Of course, I speak German. )) I am a German and I live in Germany. But my English is unfortunately not particularly good. ))

Viktor, do you speak German or other languages? Would you check out our languages template and add it to your biography? For example you might add

{{ Languages | de | en-3 }}

to the top of your biography if you speak German natively and advanced English, or you could use de-4 to specify near-native German or ru-1 for basic Russian, etc. It really helps to know who speaks all the different languages used on WikiTree!

Hi Viktor,

I see that you just volunteered and signed our honor code. That's great! Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Maybe you have some historically significant ancestors? I see you have surnames for tags. Why don't you stop by the One Name Studies project, to see if there's already a name study for (surname) going on? The current leaders for that are Doug Lockwood and Alison Andrus. They would be happy to get you started.

You might be interested in one of the other Projects that can be found here.

Let me know if you need any help!

We're glad to have you on board!!

Hi Viktor,

How are you? I'm David a WikiTree Mentor. Thanks for adding profiles to WikiTree. There are reasons behind the eighth point in our Honor Code: "We cite sources. Without sources we can't objectively resolve conflicting information.

Sources are critically important for genealogy and you will be helping future genealogists by listing where the information you've added came from. This page describes sources and how to enter sources.

Family Search and Find a Grave are free websites for finding sources:

Hi Viktor,

A warm welcome to the WikiTree family! The initial email from us has helpful links that will get you started on WikiTree, which is not like any genealogy site you’ve ever used and it is FREE. WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!

What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research you’d like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree? When you confirm your email address, you’ll have an opportunity to volunteer and tell us about your genealogical interests.

Once you volunteer, one of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership, and you’ll be on your way!

We’re really glad you’re here. More importantly, have fun growing your family tree and connecting to persons with the same interest.

Ludwig :)
