legatee in his brother Samuel’s will; will as merchant of Newcastle, dated 17 July 1660 (1/1660/R2), devising property including lands at Quarry House and shop in the Sandhill Corner and mentioning sons Samuel and Robert; sister in law Jane Jension wife to Ralph Jenison; daughter, Margery (?m. Thos Pattinson, 1678); brother Henry and father in law Robt Shaftoe (of Benwell Tower), supervisors.
