Biography

Burrell Rawls was born in Virginia, most likely Southampton county where his parents were residing, he was mentioned in a letter as being a wicked man. He married Sarah Peebles on 18 February 1815 in Prince George County, Virginia. he was mentioned many times as were his wife and children in Quaker records., [1], [2], He and family then moved to the , several more moves afterward.

Dates ranging from December 12, 1812 to December 16, 1852, ; Feb 18, 1815 rmt (reported to marry) Sarah Peebles, December 19, 1820, Burrell Rawles with wife Sarah and children David, Mary Ann, & Micajah, moved to Western Branch; , December 25, 1830, Burwell & wife Sarah & children, David, Mary Ann, Micajah, Jonathan, William & Elizabeth, at Marlboro Monthly meeting; , ,, more to add..[3]

in 1835 on December 16th Burwell and Sarah and children, Move from Sandy Spring Monthly meeting and are endorsed to the Dover, monthly meeting, on December 17th 1835, Burwell & wife Sarah & children Mary Ann, Micajah, Michael, Jonathan, William Elizabeth and Jesse Rawls are received on certificate from Sandy Springs monthly meeting dated November 6, 1835 endorsed by Cedar monthly meeting, December 16th 1835., [3]. on September 22nd 1840, Elihu Peebles was granted certificate to Springfield monthly meeting to marry Mary Ann Rawls.

On May 7, 1844 Elizabeth, daughter of Burwell & Sarah, died at the age of 15 Years 8 months and 9 days old, she was buried at Center. On July 16, 1845, Burwell Rawls was disowned for disunity. [3] more to add.

After the date of July 16, 1845 Burwell Rawls is no longer listed in Quaker records. This is when he moved to Tennessee

HE then left his children and moved to Monroe county, Tennessee where he was listed with his second wife, Susan, Burrell Ralls 58 Car penter Virginia. [4], He was last found on the 1860 census of Monroe county, Tennessee with Asenith Rawls {listed under Rolls}, who was either his second wife listed u*nder her other name or his third wife?, Berrill Rolls 68 Carpenter Virginia, Asenith 55 f wife North Carolina, Mary Gunn? 17 laborer Tennessee, Nancy Watts 30 f domestic, , [5] Jonathan B. Rawls that married Phoebe Starbuck Coffin is of this family. Bobby Rawls, Big Spring, Texas.
