Biography

Edmund was born in 1689. He is the son of Grindal Rawson and Susanna Wilson.^[1]

He married 22 May 1717 at Bridgewater, Massachusetts Elisabeth Hayward.^[2] When he was 71 years old, he married Lydia Daniels 5 March 1761 .^[3] After his death, Lydia married 25 September 1776 at Mendon, Massachusetts to William Sheffield.

Edmund was the town clerk for Uxbridge for 25 years.

Seven years after his second marriage, Edmund passed away in 1768 at the age of 79.^[4] He was moved from Uxbridge Center to Prospect Hill Cemetery 1865-1875. The gravestone did not survive the move.^[5]

The inscription on his original grave stone was inscribed: "In memory of Dea Edmund Rawson died Nov 20, 1768 in ye 81st year of his age."

He is an ancestor of President William Howard Taft.
