I have been doing genealogical research since 1974. I started out by asking family members about their families and taking notes. Eventually, they caught on that this was not a passing phase and began to share a lot of information about our family and identifying people in the family pictures.
I am currently helping others learn about their families, working my own genetic family tree and taking classes to improve my skills. My long term goals is to break a few more brickwalls and become a Board Certified Genealogist.
Have you taken a DNA test for genealogy? If so, login to add it. If not, see our friends at Ancestry DNA.

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.
Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.
If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.
Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

You may want to edit your TAGS to include more surnames and one surname per TAG as this will allow you to find others searching for the same surnames.

Welcome to WikiTree. By now you should have received an email with helpful links to get you started on adding your family to ours.
WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person and that means we share ancestors and work together as a BIG collaborative team!
What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research you’d like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree?
When you confirm your email address, you’ll be given an opportunity to volunteer to help document our collective family history. Use the Tags and comments to tell us about your genealogical interests.
When you volunteer, one of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership.
