She was baptized on February 12, 1842 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Stithton, Kentucky by Rev. Charles I Coomes. Her sponsor was Sarah Ann Ray.[1]
Julia Ray was married to Charles Matthew Rhodes on March 2, 1862 at Saints Mary and Joseph Catholic Church in Carlinville, Macoupin County, Illinois.
She passed away on September 27, 1887 in Macoupin County, Illinois, and is buried there in the Calvary Cemetery, Carlinville. A memorial page can be found on Find A Grave.

Also listed in the household are Mary E. Rhoads, 17; Martha J. Rhoads, 14; Joseph M. Rhoads, 12; Cascus M. Rhoads, 10; and Lucy C. Rhoads, 8. Charles is working as a farmer.[2]
