Note
Note: The parentage of Eunice Rayment is not clearly defined by primary source records. A Eunice Raymond married Robert Seaver on 2 September 1726 in Boston records. There is a marriage intentions record of a Eunice Rayment to Joseph Morgan Jr. on 20 December 1730 in the Beverly records. Samuel Edward Raymond indicates that Eunice Rayment, daughter of Samuel and Eunice (Norman) Rayment, married Joseph Morgan, Jr. with no source indicated.
A Joseph Morgan of Beverly, son of Robert Morgan, wrote his will on 23 October 1732. He had a son Joseph Morgan, who married first Elisabeth Wallis on 11 Aug 1700 in Beverly. Samuel Morgan, another son of Robert Morgan, had a son Joseph Morgan, born in Beverly on 26 September 1666, who married Sarah Hill on 25 October 1694 in Beverly. There could be other Joseph Morgan's in the Beverly area in 1730. However, it is probable that the Joseph Morgan who wrote his will in 1732 was Joseph Morgan Sr, and one of the younger Joseph Morgan's was Jr in 1730.
It is apparent that either the elder Eunice Rayment (widow of Samuel Rayment, whose estate was administered in January 1723/4) or the younger Eunice (daughter of Samuel and Eunice (Norman) Rayment) could have married either Robert Seaver or Joseph Morgan. There could have been other Eunice Rayment's whose birth was unrecorded in the records.
The author could find no record of children for Joseph and Eunice (Rayment) Morgan. There is no death record for either Joseph or Eunice Morgan to indicate their age at death.
However, Robert and Eunice (Rayment) Seaver did have children, with the names of:
i. Joseph - the name of Robert's father.
ii. Benjamin - the name of a brother and uncle of Eunice Rayment, daughter of Samuel and Eunice
(Norman) Rayment
iii. Thankful - the name of an aunt of Robert
iv. Norman - the maiden name of Eunice Rayment's mother
v. Hannah - the name of Robert's grandmother, Hannah (Wilson) Seaver
vi. Moses - the name of Eunice's great-grandfather, Moses Maverick
vii. Robert - the name of the father
viii. Samuel - the name of father of Eunice Rayment
ix. John - the name of the grandfather of Eunice Rayment - John Norman.
While some of these names were common in the mid-18th century, there were no other Seaver children named Norman or Moses Seaver prior to these children. The names Benjamin, Samuel and John were not common in Robert Seaver's line.
Based on this evidence, the author believes that Eunice Rayment, daughter of Samuel and Eunice (Norman) Rayment, married Robert Seaver in 1726. The widow Eunice Rayment (mother of the Eunice Rayment who married Robert Seaver) is probably the one who had intentions to marry one of the Joseph Morgan's in Beverly in 1730.
