Mildred Lucille Raymond was born on August 22, 1898, in Savanna, Illinois, her father, Joseph, was 46, and her mother, Salina, was 40. She married Edmund Walter Green on August 11, 1921, in her hometown. They had two children during their marriage. She died on March 27, 1997, in South St Paul, Minnesota, at the age of 98.
