John married 7 March 1699 Elizabeth Saint John, daughter of Samuel Sessions, alias Saint John. [2]

CAPT. JOHN RAYMOND JR. was born in 1665 in Norwalk, Connecticut. He was the son of John Raymond and Mary Betts.

He married Elizabeth St. John (1673-1737), daughter of Samuel St. John and Elizabeth Hoyt, around 1690.

They had 10 children: John; Mary; Elizabeth; Hannah (1700-1790); Lemuel; Jabez; Asahel; Elijah; Sarah; and Zuriel.

He was a captain of a train band (militia), as well as being a land surveyor. In 1699 he, with his brothers and sister, sold land to William Haynes. In 1710 he was part of a settlement with his uncles regarding splitting up his grandfather’s property, where he took a portion of the land under is father’s share. In 1713 he was appointed to a committee by the town in order to build a road to Ridgefield. He was also the representative for Norwalk in the General Assembly in 1716.

He died in 1737 in Norwalk, Connecticut.

His will is dated 7 April 1737 and proved on 4 May 1737 in Fairfield. his inventory was taken on 13 May 1737.[3]
