Biography

Frances (Rayner) Welsh was born in the Colony of New South Wales (1788-1900)
Frances Rayner was born[1] on Friday, 18th October 1839, the daughter of William Rayner and Mary Ann (Harding) Rayner, in Mudgee NSW Australia. Fanny was baptised[1] on Sunday, 16th May 1841, at St John the Baptist's Church of England, Mudgee, New South Wales, Australia.

Fanny married[2] Patrick James Welsh on Tuesday, 25th March 1856 at St John the Baptist's, Mudgee[1], New South Wales, Australia. Together they had 11 children.

Obituary
MRS FRANCES WELSH
The death occurred at her residence, Burton Street, Randwick, on June 29th [1927] of Mrs Frances Welsh, relict of the late Patrick Welsh, aged 87 years. Mrs Welsh resided for many years in March Street [Orange], where she was highly respected. Mr and Mrs Welsh were amongst the pioneers of the Warren district, where they were engaged in pastoral pursuits, removing to Orange some years ago. Mrs Welsh was a sister of Mr Harry Rayner, the doyen of Sydney horse trainers, who is verging on the nonagenarian. The deceased leaves three sons and two daughters, one of the latter being Mrs D McAlary, of Millawa Station, Warren. The remains were brought to Orange on Friday morning and laid to rest alongside those of her husband in the RC portion of the local cemetery, the funeral arrangements being conducted by Mr P.J. McGowan.
