Biography

Milton Eathen Raynes was born on 27 December 1891 in Slater, Iowa. He was the son of Cornelius Rayness and Anna Tesdahl. Milton attended school in Story County. He enlisted in the US Army on 15 July 1917 and served in World War I. He was a Corporal in Company C, 109th Engineers; he went to Europe in January 1918 and was in Italy, France, and England. He was discharged from the Army on 2 July 1919. He married Opal Lower on 7 May 1924. Milton was a printer by trade. They lived in Des Moines for many years and then moved to Los Angeles, California. Milton died on 11 August 1967; his last residence was Daly City, California.
